Last week I spent a few hours at a friend’s house and we created some deliciousness together – chocolate, bread, pesto, vege soup and a very cool pull apart bread. For the pull apart, we made a basic spelt pizza dough and I realised the only pizza dough recipe I have on the blog is my green pizza dough (which is great!) but I thought it would be a good idea to share a recipe with you for plain bases too. Pictured above are a few mini pizzas we made with some of the dough we had left over. This dough makes awesome family sized or mini pizzas, pull apart bread (see photo underneath recipe), pizza scrolls and pizza pockets. Update: I also now have a recipe available for pink pizza dough.
320g water
2 tsp yeast
620g unbleached white spelt flour
40g extra virgin olive oil
1.5 tsp himalayan salt
1. Place all ingredients in mixer bowl, in the order they are listed. KNEAD/3 minutes/MC on.
2. Transfer dough to a silicon mat or an oiled bowl. Wrap in the mat, or cover the bowl with a tea towel and leave in a warm place to double in size.
3. Preheat oven to 200°C.
4. When dough has doubled in size, punch it down and split into four equal pieces. Shape each piece of dough into a pizza base, top with your choice of toppings and cook until golden.
